Creative Mindfulness

with

Lottie Photography

Alongside my photography, I offer creative mindfulness workshops and a nurturing membership community designed to help you slow down, connect, and rediscover your creativity whilst making a positive impact on your wellbeing. These sessions are less about perfection and more about presence—simple practices and playful exercises that invite you to see the world with fresh eyes. Whether you join a one-off workshop or become part of the ongoing membership, you’ll find a welcoming space to breathe, create, and reconnect with yourself. A soulful space to explore presence, creativity, and connection one photo at a time, without the technical jargon.

Workshops

Our workshops are all about slowing down, noticing the little things, and having fun with your camera—or just your phone! No fancy gear or experience needed. Together we’ll explore simple, creative prompts that help you see the world with fresh eyes, capture moments that spark joy, and enjoy the process as much as the pictures. It’s less about perfect shots and more about playful discovery and being present.

an intimate group for a mindful photo walk and creative writing session in clacton

What we’ve been up to…

One of our recent, intimate, mindful photo walks & creative writing sessions. This one was held at Clacton seafront. We based ourselves in the cosy Martello Lounge where we enjoyed a coffee to start. We had a chat about the importance of mindfulness and set the theme of our photo walk.

We went outside into the sea air, did a short mindful breathing exercise to bring ourselves into the present moment, then off we set with our phones and cameras on our own walks and got snapping. One particular participant made a great connection between the foam on his coffee and the foam on the sea, and this became great inspiration for his creative writing. He also hadn’t used his camera in a number of years, so it was really lovely to see him reignite his passion for photography!

If you are interested in joining one of our photo walks, you can sign up to our mailing list here. You’ll also get a FREE 3 day mindful photography activity delivered to your email!

My first workshop talking

about mindful

It was this day that I

realised I’d found

a whole new purpose in life.

Background

Lottie has been a full-time wedding, family and brand photographer since 2016.

Towards the end of the pandemic, Lottie noticed a significant dip in her mental health and recognised she needed to prioritse her wellbeing. She started to find activities that really benefited her mentally such as exercise and cold water dips!

She eventually found the courage to seek therapy several years later and this really was life-changing. It was here when Lottie discovered mindful photography. Walking back home after a therapy session was time to digest everything and get back into the present, and by doing so, Lottie would really focus on the beauty around her and start taking photos. She also started to use this tool on days where she couldn’t focus on work at home, and it became such a powerful way of quietening the mind and re-gaining focus.

As time went on, Lottie felt a calling to help adults and children, by sharing the tools she had learnt to prioritise wellbeing, and nurture creativity.

Lottie held her first Mindful Photography workshop as part of Brightlingsea Winterfest on 8th February 2025, and gained more interest than she could’ve imagined. The workshop was well received by both adults and children; Lottie realised she’d found a new calling.

And so at the start of 2025, Creative Mindfulness was born, and now the launch of Breathe & Focus membership. A community that combines wellbeing & creativity for everyone. And throughout this time of healing, soul-searching and finding her purpose again, one particular person has been at the forefront of Lottie’s mind, her late Grandad, who was the first to teach her the phrase “Carpe Diem” – meaning “Seize the Day”. And all of a sudden, everything makes sense.
